We could just tell our customers that we put safety first and leave it at that.
There is, however, another option here in New Zealand and it is the one we have taken. The Marine Industry Association of New Zealand has a programme that ensures new boats are safe. It is exceptionally rigorous, with boats achieving certification exceeding safety standards set by most other nations. A manufacturers's entry into this process is totally voluntary.
At Osprey we are well on the way to obtaining CPC status – which includes swamp testing our boats to meet NZ Survey requirements. (a 1500kg block of concrete could only submerse our Osprey 700 half way up the pontoons). Practically unsinkable.
